Mallorca
The idea of escaping to a quiet life on the Med is reimagined at Finca Serena, a historic 13th-century farmstead turned luxury retreat in the heart of Mallorca. Surrounded by lavender fields, olive groves and rolling countryside, it’s the perfect post-lockdown antidote.
A theme of natural simplicity is ingrained throughout the 25 inviting rooms and suites. Think calming hues, handmade ceramics, soft linens and chunky wooden furniture. Restaurant Jacaranda – named after the rows of trees that greet you on arrival – is a highlight of any stay, headed up by two-Michelin-starred chef Óscar Velasco. Expect modern takes on Mallorcan classics with produce sourced straight from the organic kitchen garden and orchard. Soon, they’ll be serving their own wine, too, from the on-site vineyard.
A spa, gym and morning yoga classes ensure wellness needs are met, and days are well spent with a stack of books soaking up the sun either poolside or swaying in a hammock. Or take in the best of the Balearics on horseback, by bike or at one of the four local golf courses.
