Four Seasons Seoul Hotel

Seoul, South Korea

Were Seoul not such an arresting city, you could happily spend a week inside its Four Seasons without getting bored. It is brimming with stuff to do, from a huge gym with city views, to the golf simulator, where you can play Augusta from the Far East. Even better than both is the hotel’s ‘secret’ speakeasy, Charles H, which ranks among the best bars in Asia and is perfect for cocktails alongside Korean A-listers and dark-suited folks from the embassies. With seven restaurants, there are plenty of picks to line your stomach, although make sure to try the famous Peking duck at Michelin-starred Yu Yuan. The bedrooms are full of clever tech, like the iPads that let you request a turndown service and windows that offer views over Gyeongbokgung Palace (if you’re lucky) or Seoul’s CBD. Being so close to one of Seoul’s prime tourist attractions, it would be a shame not to venture out at least a little bit. Especially when you know there’s an astonishing Martini waiting when you return.
