A new boutique-minded abode from the Copenhagen Food Collective has flung open its doors just in time for summer. Set off City Hall Square in the Old Town, Hotel Bella Grande brings a vibrant modern edge to a historic scene. A convivial central inner atrium yields to reveal 108 inviting rooms and suites, some with balconies overlooking the cityscape. Travellers have used the building as a waypoint since 1899 and a sense of nostalgia is embraced accordingly. Each cosseting room is flooded with light and features homely touches such as fresh flowers and decorative wooden floors. On the food front, jewel-toned Donna is a lively spot for modern Italian cuisine – expect generous portions and a spirited sense of bonhomie.
