Shadowed by aligning trees, the driveway curves through rows of vines before revealing Lancemore Lindenberry Red Hill – a country manor turned boutique hotel in the heart of Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Nestled in the wine estate, the manor has been given a new life by acclaimed designer Hecker Guthrie, with interiors that nod to European design with an Australian twist.
All 40 guest rooms come with fireplaces, French doors and views that stretch across the vineyard. So far, so romantic. Wander among the 12 hectares of vines, manicured gardens and past a small lake, or play tennis at the onsite courts. For more adventure, drive for ten minutes to the peninsula’s beaches or 30 minutes to the Peninsula Hot Springs. Finish the day savouring each bite of local, seasonal produce at The Dining Room, or taste wine grown metres away at the Cellar Door.
