London
While none of us need justify a staycation this year, if we did,
Treehouse in Marylebone provides
ample warrant. Rising to its moniker,
it sits at a lofty height opposite BBC
HQ, providing bird’s-eye views of the
capital. As expected from the 1 Hotel
portfolio, elevated interiors are a
given, too. While the group’s serious
about sustainability – think reclaimed
materials, living walls, complimentary
bikes et al – their design ethos is one
of playfulness which takes its cue
from nature. Of the 95 rooms, those
between the ninth and 11th floors
come with cosy window seats that are
more Williamsburg than W1, while
bathrooms feature birch-tree stumps.
Convivial spaces include lounge areas
and Mexican restaurant Madera –
little sister to the LA mainstay.
The end result? Like coming home
to roost.
Doubles from £299.
