The Bradley Hare Hotel

Wiltshire, England

That a country pub in the middle of a Wiltshire village you’ve probably never heard of has interiors by the former European design director of Soho House says everything about the effortless comfort and attention to detail that goes into every one of the seven rooms at The Bradley Hare. James Waterworth is a co-director at this pub with rooms, and he’s blended 18th- and 19th-century furnishings and the considerable assets of high ceilings and bay windows with the kind of cool, comforting mismatching seen in interiors magazines.

Roaring fires warm winter evenings at The Bradley Hare, set on the Duchy of Somerset estate, and the kitchens are working towards a zero-waste ethos that sees them pickle unused ingredients and work with a community allotment to get the right vegetables. Game is so good, they have a game dealer, and local means the best of not only Wiltshire, but also neighbouring Somerset. It all amounts to an enviable larder at their disposal for a seasonable menu where provenance and flavour are everything.

The setting of a quaint village is bettered only by what lies beyond: the rolling hills and lush green landscape of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
