This boutique property sits at the meeting point of Surry Hills and Redfern, making an ideal launchpad for exploring Sydney’s most hip inner-city areas. A design-led lobby sets a chic scene – crowned by a gleaming moon installation and electric-blue seating; while elsewhere, natural stone, textured terrazzo and a colour palette inspired by Australia’s landscape continue the calming mood.

Each of the 109 rooms features either a Juliet balcony or private terrace, but for the cherry on top, head to the rooftop. Here, a 20m pool lined with terracotta umbrellas and cabanas channels a retro vibe. Sharing the space, the hotel’s Mexican restaurant, where dishes like coral trout ceviche or juicy tiger prawns pair with refreshing palomas. Downstairs, Bar Julius leans into European-bistro influences, its art-lined walls and moody hues creating a late-night ambience.
